In 1954, business partners, Lawrence "Larry" J Timon and Reidar Waaler opened Stuart Paint and Supply. Several years later, Larry bought the entire business from Mr. Waaler. Larry met his future wife Gaynell "Gay" Grose when she became employed at SPS in 1960. Together, Larry and Gay grew the business, opening multiple locations on the Treasure Coast, and a satellite location in Miami to serve 

the needs of people impacted by Hurricane Andrew. The Timons have helped many employees, and family members learn the construction industry, some of which went on to start their own industry-related businesses.

After Larry's passing in 2005, Gay continued to operate SPS along with many other family members until her passing in 2018. Larry and Gay, as a team, shepherded the company through national financial and home building crises, and they were never too busy to lend a helping hand to their family, employees, friends, and the community.

SPS has consolidated, and we are now doing business entirely out of the original location. Since Gay's passing, SPS has continued to be family operated, and the day-to-day operations are under the guidance of President Nancy Johnston, Senior Vice President Michael Johnston, and Vice President Douglas Grose. 

All of us in the SPS family look forward to continuing the traditions, and building on the foundation, started by Larry and Gay.
